Botox
Botox is a brand name for a drug that's a form of botulinum toxin A, a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum:
Botox is injected into muscles or the skin, or into deep tissue layers such as the bladder. It's used to treat a variety of medical conditions and for cosmetic purposes:
Cosmetic: Botox is used to temporarily smooth wrinkles on the face and neck.
Medical: Botox is used to treat conditions such as severe underarm sweating, muscle spasms in the neck and shoulders, and migraine headaches.
Botox usually takes 1–3 days to start working, and full results can take a week or more. The effects can last 3–4 months, but you'll likely need regular follow-up injections.
